Adikath Abiola is a Beninese agricultural economist with a strong passion for research and development, as well as behavioral and experimental economics. She holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics and has contributed to studies on climate-smart technologies and disease management strategies. With extensive experience in research and project management, she has served as a project assistant for the BBTV-Mitigation Project, an instructor at CERAP/EGAP, and a research assistant at the National University of Agriculture. She currently works as a consultant assistant at the Global Research and Consulting Centre (GR2C). She is also the co-founder of Greenworld Revolution, a social enterprise dedicated to expanding energy access through sustainable green solutions. Her research interests include developing innovative agricultural risk transfer strategies to enhance resilience in the sector.

Dr. Niang Diariatou holds a PhD in Plant and Microbial Biotechnology from the Cheikh Anta Diop University (UCAD). She specializes in the study of interactions between plants and microorganisms. Her research focuses on the development of sustainable technologies to mitigate the effects of climate change, a major threat to ecosystems in sub-Saharan Africa particularly in Senegal. Dr. Niang’s work has led to the publication of a scientific article in an international journal and successful collaborations with private companies in the agro-industrial sector, achievements that highlight her scientific rigour and her contribution to the field. Passionate about innovation, her goal is to continue exploring new avenues of research and channel her enthusiasm for science to serve humanity.

Marie Claver Ndébane Ngom is renowned in Senegal for her commitment to natural resource management and sustainable agriculture. She holds a Master’s in Sustainable Forest and Agroforestry Ecosystem Development and Management. She is passionate about agroecology and environmentally-friendly farming practices. She has dedicated her career to protecting the environment and improving the living conditions of rural communities. Ms. Ngom is involved in several sensitization and capacity-building projects promoting the adoption of sustainable farming practices to strengthen people’s resilience and autonomy in climate change challenges.

Ndoye Mame Sokhatil is currently in the final year of a doctoral programme in plant and microbial biotechnology and plant breeding at the Université Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar, in collaboration with the Regional Centre for Better Adaptaton to Draught (Centre Régional pour l’Amélioration de l’Adaptation à la Sécheresse – CERAAS). From the beginning of her academic career, she has always been particularly interested in climate change issues, which led to her choice of subjects for her Master’s and PhD studies. Her thesis focuses on “Identifying root traits that promote phosphorus uptake in millet (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R.Br) using the OpenSimRoot model.”

A specialist in plant improvement, Dr. Sambou Aissatou coordinates projects focusing on legumes, particularly groundnuts. Dr. Sambou’s work combines scientific expertise and effective strategic management, focusing on sustainable innovation. A researcher at ISRA and based at CERAAS, she runs varietal pre-selection and selection programs, employing modern techniques to develop, maintain, and evaluate populations. Her approach involves rigorously analyzing phenotypic data and exploiting it to meet the challenges posed by food safety requirements. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, Dr. Sambou develops solutions tailored to the growing agro-climatic challenges and the specific needs of producers while at the same time promoting the resilience of agricultural systems.

Dr. Eke Balla Sophie Michelle Aucun is an environmental economist and lecturer at the University of Douala, Cameroon. Her research focuses on the environment, agriculture, natural resources, sustainable development, climate change, gender, and food security.  Throughout her academic and professional careers, she has undertaken extensive training at prestigious institutions, including the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), the Trade Policy Training Centre in Africa, the University of Cape Town, the University of the Western Cape, the University of Lusaka, the Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar and the University of Yaoundé II. She has published several articles in international journals, including the Journal of Forest Research, ASC-TUFS Working Papers, the Journal of Forest Economics and World Development Perspectives, among others. She has been involved in several international research projects, as a research assistant at the Australian National University, the United Nations University (UNU-INRA), Tropenbos International and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI).

Douanla Feuyem Charline is an environmental engineer and gender and development specialist from Cameroon. Passionate about her areas of expertise, she works to amplify women’s voices and promote innovative solutions for peace and sustainable development. With six years’ experience in the sector, she has been actively involved in large-scale projects where she integrated the gender dimension into the project cycles and value chains of non-timber forest products (NTFPs), while at the same time managing environmental conflicts. A winner of prestigious leadership programs such as YALI Accra and the Africa Matters Ambassador Program, Ms. Douanla embodies rigorous leadership and is committed to developing sustainable and inclusive solutions for a more equitable and prosperous future.

Langsi Yeloma Ruth is an agri-environmentalist and an economist, as well as a project manager for the “Local Climate Resilience through Syne coculture” initiative. This high-yield agricultural technique aims to improve the productivity of small-scale producers in hot and dry climates by promoting inclusive climate solutions. Ms. Langsi is committed to training women on sustainable agricultural production in the context of climate change challenges. She is also working to raise the awareness of those involved in the agricultural sector of environmental issues, by encouraging them to adopt practices that respect biodiversity and strengthen communities’ resilience to climate change.

Dr. Chiewouo Irène Kuetche is from Cameroon and holds a PhD in Sociology. A sociologist and researcher, her main areas of research are gender and inclusion. Dr. Chiewouo is an associate professor at the University of Yaoundé 1 and is attached to the CERESC laboratory in Cameroon. She also works as a technical consultant for the Human Science Research Council in South Africa. A social entrepreneur, she holds the position of Technical Director for development NGO ADEV (Association des Acteurs de Développement) and champions the promotion of a fair and inclusive society, environmental protection, and the fight against climate change.
